Serginho Greene (born June 24, 1982 in Amsterdam ) is a Dutch football player of Surinamese descent.

Career

society

The defender learned the basics of football in the youth teams of FC Abcoud and Ajax Amsterdam . The first team of his professional career was HFC Haarlem in 2001 . There he played for a year in the Eerste Divisie . For the 2002/03 season Greene moved to the then Dutch first division club RKC Waalwijk . At the RKC , the defensive player was used in many ways in defense. Despite these many changes in position, he established himself at Waalwijk and quickly became a regular. Good performances brought him into the focus of European and Dutch top clubs. On April 14, 2005, Feyenoord Rotterdam announced that it would sign Greene for the following season. From 2005 to 2009 he played for Feyenoord Rotterdam. Together with other players ( Maikel Aerts , Timothy Derijck , Gianni Zuiverloon , Tim Vincken and Ali Boussaboun ), the defender was introduced to Feyenoord supporters in July 2005. At the beginning, Greene mostly played in central defense. After Ron Vlaar was signed by AZ Alkmaar in winter 2005/06 , he moved to the position of right-back. In 2008 he celebrated his greatest success so far with the Green-Whites . The team reached the final of the KNVB Cup and won it 2-0 against Roda JC Kerkrade . While he mostly belongs to the regular team between 2005 and 2008, Greene's situation worsened in the 2008/09 season, where he only made new league appearances. After his contract expired in summer 2009, it was not extended. It was only in November 2009 that he found a new club and on November 4, 2009 he joined Vitesse Arnhem . There he received a one-year contract. On matchday 13, November 7th, he played his first game for Vitesse against VVV Venlo , three days after his commitment. He was substituted on for Onur Kaya in the 67th minute . Greene was already in the starting line-up the next day.

In the summer of 2010 Greene moved to Lewski Sofia in the Bulgarian A Grupa . There he played for two years until he moved to FK Vojvodina in Serbia in 2012 . There he was used in half of the games. At the beginning of 2013 he was loaned out to AEK Larnaka in the Cypriot First Division for six months . At the beginning of 2014, the club signed him permanently. In the first half of 2014/15 he lost his regular place. In early 2015 he joined league rival Othellos Athienou . At the end of the season he was relegated with his team.

Then Green moved to Delhi Dynamos FC in the Indian Super League . There he could not assert himself and usually sat on the substitute bench. In early 2016 he returned to the Netherlands, where he joined FC Dordrecht , who played in the second division. In summer 2016 he was hired by league competitor RKC Waalwijk. He ended his professional career there in 2018. Since the beginning of 2019 he has played in Dutch amateur football for FC Lienden.
