Sergio Lorenzo "Serge" Pizzorno (born December 15, 1980 in Newton Abbot , Devon county , England ) is a British guitarist and songwriter . He became known as a member of the indie rock band Kasabian . In 2019 he released a solo album under the name The SLP (his initials).

biography

Sergio Pizzorno's grandfather immigrated from Genoa , Italy to Leicester , where Pizzorno grew up. There he attended Countesthorpe Community College and initially wanted to become a professional footballer, even had trial training at Nottingham Forest , although he himself is a fan of their rival Leicester City .

Kasabian

At the age of eleven, Sergio Pizzorno, singer Tom Meighan and bassist Chris Edwards met at school. Inspired by Britpop , especially Oasis , they founded the band Kasabian in 1997 together with guitarist Chris Karloff. Pizzorno, who was the band's main songwriter from the start, has been composing both music and lyrics alone since Karloff's departure in 2006.

In 2006 Pizzorno collaborated, together with band member Chris Karloff, with DJ Shadow on the song The Tiger , which appeared on his album The Outsider .

In 2010, Pizzorno wrote the music for the film London Boulevard . In 2012 he provided the soundtrack to Noel Fielding's comedy series Noel Fielding's Luxury Comedy , which was released on Record Store Day , as well as the music for its exhibition in the London Café Maison Bertaux in 2010. Together with Fielding, he is a member of the fictional band Loose Tapestries. He has also been working with designer Aitor Throup since 2011 and composes music to accompany his fashion shows.

Pizzorno modeled the jeans brand G-Star for the autumn / winter 2013 campaign and also wrote the song for the TV commercial.
