The Serranía del Imajana is a system of ridges in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

The Serranía del Imajana is one of the Bolivian Voranden chains and lies between the Serranía de Iniricarsama in the east and the Cumbre Chulumani ridge in the west, upstream of the Cordillera de Cochabamba . It extends in a north-west-south-east direction in the department of Cochabamba over the districts ( Bolivian : Municipios ) Tiraque , Totora and Pojo . The ridge is bounded in the southwest by the Río Ivirizu , to the south by the Río Icuna , and to the east by the Río Chimoré . To the north the ridge opens up to the plain between Villa Tunari and Chimoré , the total length of the ridge is around fifty kilometers and its width up to twenty kilometers. The highest point is the Cerro Quematio ( 1896 m ) in the south-eastern part of the Serranía del Imajana.

The Serranía del Imajana follows the folding direction of the Andes high mountains without reaching the absolute height of the central Andean regions, its northern flank drowns in the erosion material that has been washed into the Bolivian lowlands over millions of years. From the Serranía del Imajana a number of smaller rivers drains in a northerly direction, such as the Río Eñe, Río Uraboca and Río Dogo Poza. The mountain range together with the Serranía de Iniricarsama to the east and parts of the Serranía Racete have been protected as the Carrasco National Park ( Parque Nacional Carrasco ) since 1991 .
Development
The Serranía del Imajana is almost uninhabited and only accessible by unpaved roads, the diverse flora and fauna of the semi-humid subtropical mountain forests are still little developed by tourism.
