Setzelbach is a district of the municipality of Rasdorf in the Fulda district in Hesse .
Geographical location
The place is in the Rhön biosphere reserve south of Rasdorf on the border with Thuringia .
history
The village was first mentioned in a document in 1160 under Abbot Markward of the Fulda Abbey. The later desert of Obersetzelbach is mentioned for the first time around 1300 and for the last time in 1529. In the 16th century the village belonged to the Fulda "Amt Haselstein". In 1812 it was the daughter church of Rasdorf. In 1850 Adalbert Endert , who later became the bishop of the Fulda diocese, was born in Setzelbach. The patronage of the branch church from 1863 is called " Mariä Marriage ".
Reorganization
On April 1, 1972, the previously independent place was incorporated into the municipality of Rasdorf as part of the regional reform .
