Seydewitz is a district of the town of Belgern-Schildau in the district of Northern Saxony in Saxony .

The alley village Seydewitz is located on the Saxon-Brandenburg border southwest of the city of Mühlberg / Elbe on federal highway 182 in the Belgern-Mühlberg Elbe-Aue . Between the districts of Staritz and Seydewitz, an Elbe bridge connects Saxony and Brandenburg in the direction of Mühlberg / Elbe.

Sydewicz was first mentioned in 1251 . In 1816 the village was called Seydewitz as it is today . In 1551 32 people lived in the developing village, 106 in 1818 and 193 in 1946. The residents were parish in Staritz and Schirmeitz at different times . The official authority was first in Torgau, for a time in Mühlberg / Elbe and today again in Torgau.

The incorporation to Wohlau took place on July 1, 1950 and the reclassification to Belgern in 1994. Since January 1, 2013 Seydewitz belongs to Belgern-Schildau.
