Location of Lausa in Saxony |
Lausa is a district of the town of Belgern-Schildau in the district of North Saxony in Saxony .
location
Lausa is located southwest of Belgern in the Dahlener Heide . The district road 8919 opens up the village to traffic. The Holzstraße leads through the Dahlener Heide to Dahlen .
history
The once loose farming hamlet with 127 hectares in a block corridor was first mentioned in 1251 as Lusene . The church dates from the 15th century.
In the Thirty Years War the Swedes destroyed the place in 1637. The village was not settled again until long after the war.
In 1682 the church was rebuilt. It has a church tower covered with wooden shingles, which carries a weather vane with a Turkish crescent moon. A legend speaks of a piece of booty from the Turkish campaign. It is more likely that the crescent moon is supposed to commemorate the participation of Saxon troops in the relief of Vienna, which was besieged by the Turks in 1683. Elector Johann Georg III., The father of Augustus the Strong, had sent five cavalry regiments and six infantry regiments as well as artillery and thus had a share in the victory over the Turkish army of Grand Vizier Kara Mustapha. This coincided with the reconstruction of the church.
Officially, the village first belonged to the Mühlberg Office and from 1816 to the Torgau district and its successors.
On July 1, 1950, Kaisa was incorporated. The municipality of Lausa was incorporated into Belgern on January 1, 1999 and has belonged to Belgern-Schildau since January 1, 2013. The M brickwork and the church equipment have been restored since 2015.
