Staritz is a district of the town of Belgern-Schildau in the district of North Saxony in Saxony .

Staritz is located on the federal highway 182 west of the Liebersee and the Elbe , as well as east of the Dahlener Heide and southeast of Belgern. Between the villages of Staritz and Seydewitz , an Elbe bridge has been connecting Saxony and Brandenburg in the direction of Mühlberg since 2008 , before there was a yaw ferry there .
history
The street village with Gewannflur and 364 hectares of land was written in 1119 Stariz . In 1791 the name Staritz already occupied the place. 168 people lived here in 1818, 504 in 1950 and 337 in 1990. In 1500 the village had a parish church in which neighboring parishes were parish . The higher authority was based in Torgau , now in Mühlberg / Elbe and today again in Torgau.
