Bockwitz is a district of the town of Belgern-Schildau in the district of North Saxony in Saxony .

The village of Bockwitz is located southwest of Belgern on the state road 30 , which leads from Belgern to Oschatz . The village is located between two large forest areas of the Dahlener Heide and is flanked by the Stollenberg, Windmühlenberg, Rosenberg and Langenberg in the vicinity.
history
The road Angersdorf with irregular field was in 1242 for the first time as Bucuwiz mentioned. The name changed several times and in 1555 the village was called Pockwitz . On April 12, 1242, the place was transferred, along with other places, to the Mühlberg monastery by Margrave Heinrich, which still owned the manor around 1551. Later the place came under the rule of the Elector of Saxony and became Torgauer Amtsdorf . In 1895 the district comprised 541 hectares, which were mainly used for agriculture.
On the basis of a public law agreement, Bockwitz was incorporated into the city of Belgern with effect from March 1, 1994. In 1998, Bockwitz was included in the Saxon village development program and extensively renovated. Since January 1st 2013 the place belongs to Belgern-Schildau.
