Shōgo Nakajima ( Japanese 中 島 彰 吾 , Nakajima Shōgo ; born October 26, 1993 in Kushiro , Hokkaidō ) is a Japanese ice hockey player who has been playing for the Nippon Paper Cranes in the Asia League Ice Hockey since 2016 .

Career

Shōgo Nakajima began playing ice hockey at Chūō University , for whose team he played in the Japan Ice Hockey League from 2011 to 2016 . In 2016 he moved to Nippon Paper Cranes in the Asia League Ice Hockey and was voted Rookie of the Year in its premiere season .

International

For Japan, Nakajima already took part in the IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia 2012 , in which the team behind the Russian MHL Red Stars won the silver medal. The following year he played with the Japanese juniors at the U20 World Cup in 2013 , when he and his compatriot Makuru Furuhashi were the third-best scorer behind the Dutch Tony Ras and Danny Stempher in Division II. He also represented the Land of the Rising Sun in the Winter Universiades 2013 in Trentino and 2015 in Granada.

Koizuma made his debut in the men's national team at the 2017 World Cup , where his team competed in Group B of Division I. He also played in Division I at the 2018 World Cup .
