Danny Stempher (born August 5, 1995 in Zoetermeer ) is a Dutch ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Tilburg Trappers in the German Oberliga Nord since 2015 .

Career

Clubs

Danny Stempher began his career with the Zoetermeer Panters , for which he played in the 2010/11 season in both the Ehrendivision and the Eerste divisie , the second highest division in the Netherlands. He also played in the second team of the Eindhoven Kemphanen , the Eindhoven High Techs, also in the Eerste divisie. From 2011 he played firmly with the gamecocks both in the first team in the honor division and with the high tech in the Eerste divisie. From 2013 to 2015 he was also part of the NIJA talent team , the junior national team that played in the Eerste divisie at the time in order to give the Dutch youngsters match experience. In 2014 he received the Bennie-Tijnagel-Trofee as the best young player. In 2015 he joined the Tilburg Trappers , the only Dutch club to play in the Oberliga Nord . With these he was able to win the German league championship in 2016, 2017 and 2018.

International

For the Netherlands, Stempher took part in the Division II games of the U18 World Championships in 2012 and 2013 as well as the U20 World Championships in 2012 and 2013 , when he was named the top scorer and second best scorer of the tournament after his compatriot Tony Ras , 2014 and 2015 .

The center made its debut in the men's national team at the Division I tournament in 2015 , when the Dutch were relegated to Division II. He played there in 2018 . He also represented his colors in qualifying for the Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang 2018 .
