Shadowmaker is the 14th studio album by the German heavy metal band Running Wild . The album was released on April 20, 2012 on Steamhammer / SPV .
Emergence
Rolf Kasparek had previously gained experience with his glam rock band Toxic Taste. The song Me & the Boys , which has influences from this style, also comes from their song material . Although Kasparek did not admit it, some reviewers accused the band of using a drum computer , such as the Metal Hammer , on the album .

Jacob Kranz from Metal Hammer wrote, “Any attempt to find Shadowmaker really good” will be “ruined by the polished production. Although Running Wild has received multiple criticism for the obviously programmed drums in the past, and although Rock'n'Rolf should be aware that a comeback album should destroy everything and everyone, he goes straight back into this minefield. “He gave 2 out of 7 points. Rüdiger Stehle from Powermetal.de wrote: “What remains is a solid running wild album, which will certainly not be a classic in the band's catalog, but which is also far from being a huge blow. Well-loved, familiar sounds combine with some fresh, rocking elements to form a pleasing mixture that may seem a bit cheesy here and there, but can also be wonderfully entertaining in other places. ”He gave the album 8 out of 10 points.
Commercially, Shadowmaker reached the highest position of the band in the German album charts at number 12, but was only listed there for one week.
