Shannon Christiaan Holtzapffel Antoine (born October 9, 1985 in Delft , Holland ) is a Dutch- Australian choreographer , actor and dancer .

Life

Shannon Holtzapffel was born in Delft, Holland, and moved with his family to Brisbane , Australia in 1989 . He attended the Johnny Young Talent School at the age of six and ended up in the musical production The King and I and in a TV commercial at the age of seven . Other classical ballet productions followed. As a teenager, Holtzapffel continued his dance training at the Davidia Lind Dance Center in all genres of dance.

In the following years he had appearances on several television series, for example in The Wayne Manifesto , Medivac and Fire II .

After graduating from Queensland's Sunnybank State High School , Holtzapffel received a scholarship that enabled him to study at the Edge Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles in 2003 . With his previous experience in dance, acting and choreography he got engagements for TV commercials and worked in numerous video clips and a. with Christina Aguilera and Ne-Yo . Tours followed that took him to South Korea and Europe with the Los Angeles Commonality Dance Company .

In April 2009, Holtzapffel was selected to perform as a dancer on Michael Jackson's comeback tour This Is It , which was canceled after the singer's death. He can also be seen in the documentary of the same name . In 2010 he was one of the dancers on the first leg of Whitney Houston's comeback tour Nothing But Love World Tour . In 2011 he took part in the Aphrodite World Tour of the Australian singer Kylie Minogue . He has also worked for artists such as Britney Spears , Janet Jackson , Delta Goodrem, and dozens of others.

Holtzapffel currently lives in Los Angeles.

In addition to Hugh Jackman , Zac Efron and Zendaya , he plays in the new musical film The Greatest Showman , where he embodies Captain Costentenus.
