Sharon von Wietersheim

Sharon von Wietersheim (born October 9, 1959 in Fort Stewart , Georgia , USA) is a German-American screenwriter, director and producer.

Life and work

Born in Fort Stewart, Georgia (USA), Sharon von Wietersheim moved to Germany at the age of three. She started her career as an assistant director at the Residenztheater in Munich and then took acting lessons. She was later seen in German television series such as Tatort , Derrick and Der Alte . Sharon von Wietersheim has worked as a screenwriter, director and producer since the early 1990s. In 1994 she founded the company RICH AND FAMOUS OVERNIGHT Filmproduktionsgesellschaft mbH , based in Munich, for the production of her first short film The Necklace , for which she was nominated for the German Short Film Award in 1995 . On April 13, 2011, RICH AND FAMOUS OVERNIGHT Filmproduktionsgesellschaft mbH was converted into Rich and Famous Overnight Film GmbH & Co. KG . The personally liable partner of the limited partnership was the Rich and Famous Overnight Verwaltungs GmbH , founded at the same time for this purpose , whose sole managing director is also from Wietersheim.

Wietersheim is a founding member and board member of Lucky Dogs eV , an animal welfare association that takes care of street dogs in Europe.
