Shaun Maclean Pollock (born July 16, 1973 in Port Elizabeth ) is a retired South African cricketer and one of the best all-rounders in history. He is the bowler with the most test wicks for South Africa . Shaun Pollock comes from a famous family of cricketers. His father Peter Pollock and his uncle Graeme Pollock also played test cricket for South Africa.

Career

Shaun Pollock completed 108 test matches during his career, in which he scored a total of 3781 runs and 421 wickets . Worldwide only seven players have won more test wicks than Shaun Pollock. He is also one of only eight cricket players who have won at least 3000 test runs and 300 test wicks. Pollock made his test debut in November 1995 against the English test team . Pollock's last appearance in a test was against the West Indies team in January 2008. Shaun Pollock also played 303 one-day international matches for South Africa, scoring a total of 3519 runs and 393 wickets. Only five other players have scored more wickets at One-Day Internationals than Shaun Pollock. Shaun Pollock took part in four cricket world championships ( 1996 , 1999 , 2003 and 2007 ) with the South African team .

In 2008 he received the Order of Ikhamanga in silver.
