Siboto from Seefeld
Siboto Seefeld († 13 / 15. August 1262 in Kaisheim ) was from 1227 to 1247 Bishop of Augsburg .
life and work
Siboto was first canon in Augsburg and was appointed subdeacon in 1217 . In 1227 he was consecrated as a bishop in Augsburg. In 1231 at the Worms Reichstag, Siboto signed an imperial law ( Statutum in favorem principum ) of King Henry VII . He later tried to resolve the dispute between Pope Gregory IX. and to finish with Emperor Friedrich II . He took the side of the emperor and was thereupon banned by the papal side. The bishop was excommunicated due to other incidents. In 1247 Siboto resigned from the office of bishop and from then on took part in the monastery life in Kaisheim.
