Life

Little is known about Siegfried's life before his ordination as bishop. After attending the Augsburg Cathedral School , he took over the office of Cathedral Canon from 1255 at the earliest . In 1263 Siegfried was appointed archdeacon and from 1269 he appears as provost of Buxheim .

In July 1286 Siegfried was elected to succeed the late Bishop Hartmann von Dillingen . He then received his episcopal ordination at the German National Council in Würzburg in March 1287. After a short term in office, the bishop, described as benevolent and generous, died on June 26, 1288. He was buried in Augsburg Cathedral in front of the cross altar.

Shortly before his death, he bequeathed his possessions, which also included Pfersee Castle and Pfladermühle , to the Augsburg bishopric . He also left several houses and farms to the cathedral chapter .
