action

Episode I: Paulette

On the way to her husband's funeral, the young widow Paulette is so captivated by her old admirer Jean about his future prospects with her that they leave the funeral procession at a crossroads.

Episode II: Maria Teresa

Maria Theresa arrives at home a day early and finds her best friend in her place next to husband Georgio. Revenge is sweet, and the city's ambulatory love business wants to help her with it. But when her unfaithful husband is struck down, she embraces him moaning and calls out his name in despair. Love forgive!

Episode III: Linda

The somewhat over-the-top interpreter Linda puts two "honorable" scholars, a Scot and an Italian, to a severe test. But these, not even beginners, can break through the intellectual barrier of the otherwise clever Linda.

Episode IV: Edith

Edith feels criminally neglected by her "brilliant" husband Rik, a fashion writer with a lot of imagination. With original ideas she tries to get his attention from his imaginary creatures - is that really they? - to draw back on yourself.

Episode V: Eve

Through indiscretion, Eve learns that her rival Lisari will wear the same dress for the opening of the opera that her husband had made exclusively for her. A small bomb solves the problem, but what a shock: even a third person shows up in "her" dress!

Episode VI: Marie

The lovers Marie and Fred feel disappointed in the world and therefore want to leave life "decently". However, the two do not manage to agree on a common mode of death. After all, life turns out to be stronger.

Episode VII: Jeanne

Jeanne experiences a romantic love , unfinished, in the middle of winter in Paris.

Reviews

The lexicon of international film draws the following conclusion: “Seven amorous short episodes from the lives of seven women make up a cheerful, melancholy star film with Shirley MacLaine in as many roles […] against the backdrop of“ Paris ”. A direct hit for the friends of MacLaine. ”The Protestant film observer comes to a similar assessment:“ Funny and cheeky episode film by Vittorio De Sica about various female figures, which for adults with very subtle freedom in words and pictures, in addition to hearty laughter, also thoughtful things should lead to heart. Good entertainment."
