Siegbert Morscher (born April 29, 1939 in Bludenz ) is an Austrian lawyer , emeritus university professor and former constitutional judge . From 1982 to 2007 Morscher was Professor of Public Law at the Institute for Public Law, State and Administrative Studies at the University of Innsbruck and from 1988 to 2004 a judge at the Austrian Constitutional Court .

Siegbert Morscher was born on April 29, 1939 in the Vorarlberg district capital Bludenz . He attended the Bundesrealgymnasium Bludenz in his hometown , where he passed the Matura in 1958 . Professional background

Morscher's first professional position took him to the Austrian Administrative Court in Vienna , where he worked in the registry office in 1964, among other things . In 1988 Siegbert Morscher was appointed judge at the Constitutional Court by Federal President Kurt Waldheim during the term of office of the Federal Government Vranitzky II . During his 16-year tenure as a constitutional judge, Morscher was elected a permanent speaker several times and also continued to teach at the University of Innsbruck. In 2004, Siegbert Morscher resigned for private reasons five years before his age-related retirement from the Constitutional Court. Morscher retired as professor at the University of Innsbruck in 2007 .

Siegbert Morscher's brother Edgar Morscher has been a full professor of philosophy at the University of Salzburg since 1979 .
