Edgar Morscher

Edgar Morscher (born January 23, 1941 in Bludenz ) is an Austrian philosopher and currently teaches at the Department of Philosophy of the Faculty of Culture and Social Sciences at the University of Salzburg .

A study on the logical in-itself at Bernard Bolzano he was in 1969 at the University of Innsbruck Dr. phil. PhD. His research and teaching focuses on ethics , ontology , philosophical logic and the philosophy of the 19th and 20th centuries (especially on Bernard Bolzano ). Since 2006 he has been a full member of the Academia Europaea .

Morscher has been a full professor of philosophy at the University of Salzburg since 1979. From 1993 to 1995 he was rector of the University of Salzburg.

Edgar Morscher's brother Siegbert Morscher is a legal scholar and worked as a university professor at the University of Innsbruck and as a judge at the Austrian Constitutional Court .
