Siegbert Ortmann

Siegbert Ortmann (born August 26, 1940 in Wiesengrund / Sudetenland ) is a former Hessian politician ( CDU ) and a member of the Hessian state parliament .

education and profession

After graduating from high school, Ortmann studied law in Marburg an der Lahn , Saarbrücken and Würzburg and passed the second state examination after completing his legal clerkship in Fulda and Frankfurt am Main . From 1969 he worked as a lawyer, from 1972 to 2010 as a notary in Lauterbach / Hessen.

Siegbert Ortmann has been a member of the CDU since 1963.

Since 1969 he was a member of the Lauterbach district council . After the regional reform in Hesse , he was elected to the newly formed Vogelsberg district assembly for the CDU in 1972 . He retained this mandate until he left in 2005. During this time he was chairman of the CDU parliamentary group for two electoral terms and, from 1981, chairman of the district council for one term. He was a member of the 11th Federal Assembly in 1999. In recognition of the special services he had acquired for people and the state, Federal President Johannes Rau awarded him the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in March 2003. From 1987 to 2003 Siegbert Ortmann was a member of the Hessian state parliament for four electoral terms. As a passionate hunter , he was the hunting policy spokesman for the Landtag CDU and from 1999 to 2003 chairman of the main committee of the Hessian Landtag.

Other offices

Siegbert Ortmann was a member of the supervisory board of Volksbank Lauterbach-Schlitz eG from 1977 to 2011 , including the last 13 years as chairman of the supervisory board. He is active in many associations and chairman of the Association of Expellees in Lauterbach. Since 2012 he has been a member of the Federal Assembly and Deputy Federal Chairman of the Sudetendeutschen Landsmannschaft eV in Munich as well as a member of the Sudetendeutschen Council eV On March 24, 2012 he was elected regional chairman of the Association of Expellees (BdV) Hessen. As a representative of the Federation of Expellees - Landesverband Hessen - Siegbert Ortmann has been a member of the Broadcasting Council of the Hessian Broadcasting Corporation since January 1, 2013. Since December 2, 2016, he has been an elected member of the Presidium of the Federation of Displaced Persons (BdV) in Germany and as of November 30, 2018 as Vice President of this organization.
