Siegfried Kramer
Siegfried Kramer (* 1877 in Brno ; † July 20, 1914 in Pressbaum , Lower Austria ) was an Austrian architect and city architect.
Life
There is little biographical information about Siegfried Kramer available. All we know is that he came from Brno, was Jewish and remained unmarried. In 1905 he acquired the master builder license in Vienna . He then went into an office community with Julius Goldschläger until 1907. He only died at the age of thirty-seven in 1914 in the Rekawinkel sanatorium and was buried in Vienna's central cemetery.

Siegfried Kramer designed mainly residential and commercial buildings in the inner districts of Vienna. He made use of the historicist style, designing his buildings mainly monumental and representative. Sometimes he also carried out the buildings as a builder. His first drafts in collaboration with Goldschläger corresponded to a neo-baroque - secessionist design language. From 1911 he switched to a neo-empire and also used geometrical décor in the manner of the Wiener Werkstätte .
Kramer took part in many tenders, especially in Bohemia and Moravia , and supplied versatile designs for other types of buildings, such as town halls, hotels or theaters. He can be classified as a traditional architect, but also dealt with the modern trends of the time in Vienna.
