Siegfried Liebschner (born August 9, 1935 in Bad Bramstedt ; † February 24, 2006 in Hamburg-Schnelsen ) was a Baptist pastor and lecturer in practical theology at the Theological Seminary of the Federation of Evangelical Free Churches .

Life

Siegfried Liebschner came from a Bad Bramstedt family of carpenters . After graduating from high school in 1953 , he enrolled at the theological faculty of the University of Hamburg .

Following his master's degree, he initially worked from 1962 as a pastor for the student work of the Association of Evangelical Free Churches ( Baptists ). In 1966 he was appointed pastor by the Elmshorn Baptist church . After five years of community service, in 1971 he moved to the Theological Seminary of the Federation of Evangelical Free Churches , which was then based in Hamburg-Horn . Here Siegfried Liebschner taught practical theology . In his church in Elmshorn he continued to work as a church leader for many years .

Even after the theological training center moved to Wustermark-Elstal , Liebschner worked as a lecturer in the seminar until he retired in 2001.

meaning

Siegfried Liebschner was one of the co-founders of the Working Group for Evangelical Theology (AfeT) and the Spiritual Community Renewal in the Federation of Evangelical Free Churches . In the early 1970s, he was committed to building bridges between evangelical theology and the charismatic movement .
