Siegfried Meister

Siegfried Meister (born January 9, 1903 in Geisingen ; † October 31, 1982 in Oberderdingen ) was a German engineer and politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

Master first attended a private home school. He then completed technical and economic studies, which he completed with a degree as chief engineer. He worked in large-scale industry, was a long-time advisor to the Chinese national government in Nanking and was temporarily assigned to the trade department of the Chinese embassy in Berlin . At the outbreak of the Second World War he was interned in French Indochina . After the Armistice of Compiègne , Meister returned to Germany and worked there as an operator in an industrial plant. After the end of the war, he took part in setting up the southern German branch of a large industrial company.

Political party

Meister joined the CDU after 1945, was elected chairman of the CDU district association Karlsruhe-Land and was a member of the regional board of the CDU North Baden .

MP

Meister was a council member of the Flehingen community and a member of the Karlsruhe district council for two electoral terms . From 1960 until his resignation on October 31, 1965, he was a member of the Baden-Württemberg state parliament . He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1965 to 1972. In parliament he represented the constituency of Pforzheim - Karlsruhe - Land I. He was also a member of the European Parliament from 1970 to 1973 .
