Sigmund von Pappenheim (* 1434 in Pappenheim ; † 1496 ), was the progenitor of the Alesheim line of those of Pappenheim .

Life

Sigmund von Pappenheim was the youngest son of Haupt II. Von Pappenheim († 1438) and his wife Barbara von Rechberg . He was married to Magdalena von Schaumberg . In the years 1474 and 1475 he took as Obrist-Feld-Marshal in the service of Emperor Friedrich III. participated in the war against Duke Karl the Bold and besieged Neuss . With the death of his brother Georg von Pappenheim in 1485, he held the seniority until his death in 1496.
