Sigurd Erik "Sigge" Bröms (born January 10, 1932 in Leksand , † January 13, 2007 in Mora ) was a Swedish ice hockey player .

Career

Sigurd Bröms began his career as an ice hockey player at Leksands IF , for whose professional team he was active between 1948 and 1957 in Division 1 , the then highest Swedish league, as well as the second-rate Division 2 . He then spent a year with first division club GAIS Göteborg before returning to Leksands IF for four more seasons. From 1962 to 1964, the attacker played for the second division team Bodens BK , before he spent another year at his home club Leksands IF in Division 1. In the 1965/66 season he was on the ice for the Mora IK in Division 2. He then ended his career at the age of 32.

International

For Sweden Bröms participated in the Winter Olympics in 1956 in Cortina d'Ampezzo and 1960 in Squaw Valley part. He was also in his country's squad at the 1953 , 1957 and 1958 World Championships . At the World Championships in 1953 and 1957, he and his team won the gold medal. As the best European tournament, Sweden was also European champion both times. At the 1958 World Cup, he and his team won the bronze medal.
