Silver / tables and graphs
Here are tables and graphs with information about Silver shown.
overview
In 2018, global silver production was 26,900 tons (2017: 26,800 tons). The largest extraction nations were Mexico (6,120 tons), Peru (4,160 tons), the People's Republic of China (3,570 tons), Russia (2,100 tons) and Poland (1,470 tons), which accounted for 64.8 percent of world extraction. Germany , which in 1970 with 131 tons was one of the ten countries with the highest production, stopped mining in 1993.
Eligible reserves were estimated by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) in January 2020 at 560,000 tons worldwide. Peru accounted for 120,000 tons, Poland 100,000 tons, Australia 90,000 tons and Russia 45,000 tons. These four states together had a share of 63.4 percent of the world's reserves. The static range of the reserves is around 21 years.
Reserves
The United States Geological Survey distinguishes between the following two categories:
- The reserve base is that portion of an identified resource that meets the specific minimum physical and chemical criteria for current mining and production practices, including grade , quality , thickness and depth . The publication of data on the stock base was stopped by the USGS in 2009.
- The reserves are that part of the supply base that could be economically extracted or produced at a given time. The term does not have to mean that extraction systems are installed and working. Reserves only contain exploitable substances.
The reserves of the countries with the greatest production are listed here.
