Polymetallic ( Russian Полиметалл ) is an on Jersey registered company , whose headquarters are in St. Petersburg is located.
The company is active in the mining industry in Russia and Kazakhstan, producing gold, silver and, as a by-product, copper. The company was founded in 1998 as JSC Polymetal by Alexander Nesis and his ICT group. The company was listed on the Moscow Stock Exchange in the 1st quarter of 2007 and was at that time the largest silver exporter in Russia and the fifth largest silver producer worldwide. The company is listed in the RTS index (as of September 2014).
In 2010, Polymetal International PLC was registered as a new holding company in Jersey. 51% of the shares are in free float; the rest are held by Alexander Nesis, Alexander Mamut and Petr Kellner .
