Novatek ( Russian: Новатэк , until 2003 ОАО ФИК Новафининвест, OAO FIK Novafininwest ) is a Russian company with headquarters in Tarko-Sale , Western Siberia.

Nowatek is the largest private energy company producing and selling natural gas and oil in Russia. The company was founded in August 1994 and is listed in the RTS index on the Moscow Stock Exchange .

In 2015, 67.905 billion cubic meters of gas, 7.525 million tons of gas condensate and 1.569 million tons of oil were produced. The most important gas field is Jurcharow .

Jamal LNG

In 2017, the first liquefied natural gas from Jamal LNG , a natural gas liquefaction project in Sabetta on the Yamal Peninsula , is to be shipped.

Nowatek has a 50.1% stake in the project, Total and CNPC each with 20%, and the Silk Road Fund with 9.9%.
