The Silberpfennig is approximately 5.5 kilometers west of Bockstein befindlicher 2600 m above sea level. A. high, prominent summit in the Goldberg group Hohe Tauern , which is named after the earlier silver mining . Its steep drop to the Gastein Valley is called "Long Wall". Presumably because of this steep drop, mining was accessible from Carinthia in Roman times by a road over the Mallnitzer Tauern .
