The Silver Cloud is a cruise ship owned by Silversea Cruises based in Monaco . She was built in 1994 under the hull number 775 in Genoa, Italy at the Mariotti shipyard and sails under the flag of the Bahamas with her home port in Nassau .
The Silver Cloud was nearly a year later with the Silver Wind , a sister ship , but which differs slightly in the interior layout.
At the Olympic Games in 2016 , the ship served as a hotel ship in Rio de Janeiro .
From August to October 2017 the ship was converted into an ice class expedition ship at Palumbo Shipyard in Malta .
Furnishing
Six of the nine decks are available to passengers. The 151 cabins (two of which are handicapped accessible) are all called "suites" by the shipping company and have a minimum size of 22 m². Some suites can be occupied by three people, then a maximum of 325 passengers are possible. There are two restaurants, a theater and a swimming pool. The language on board is English.
