Press reviews

Schneider uses his keen, sensuous powers of observation in a virtuoso manner. What she collects crystallizes into astonishing, subtly shimmering images, into "ge-Dicht" in the best sense of the word: well-observed subtleties of language correspond with an equally rich wealth of details of the events and scenes depicted.

Schneider is extremely critical of the current development of art. He compares the popular "pop literati" with ice skaters. They moved carefully on the thin ice of society, careful not to break in. He himself is more of an ice diver who jumps into the deep end, looks at the world from below and questions it.

(General-Anzeiger Bonn on the publication of Balance )

A work that does not make it easy for the reader, that requires reflection and rewards. At the same time, it captivates with imaginative and sharply drawn images and cultivated language; the gloomy basic theme is repeatedly brightened up by passages of refreshing self-irony. The young Hennefer is an author who deserves more attention and whose further work we can look forward to.
