Simon Lorenz Stadler (born May 2, 1988 in Altdorf , resident in Altdorf) is a Swiss politician ( CVP ) from Altdorf in the canton of Uri .

Life

Stadler's father is former Uri Landammann and old Senate Hansruedi Stadler . Simon Stadler completed an apprenticeship as a bricklayer in 2012 and then studied pedagogy at the Schwyz University of Education. He is currently working as a primary school teacher.

In 2012, Stadler was elected to the Uri District Administrator for the Altdorf community , and in 2016 he was re-elected. He is a member and vice-president of the Health, Social and Environmental Commission and presides over the special commission for the renovation and new construction of the Uri Cantonal Hospital in Altdorf (hospital commission). In the district administration, Stadler is particularly committed to protecting cultivated land, building a new hospital and relieving the burden on caring relatives. The new construction of the Uri vocational and further training center in Altdorf (bwz) is the result of an initiative by him.

The CVP Uri nominated him in June 2019 for the federal elections in autumn 2019 as a candidate for the National Council . On October 20, 2019, he was elected to the National Council at the age of 31. This was the first time since 1915 that CVP Uri had a seat.
