Simone Plé-Caussade

Simone Plé-Caussade (born August 14, 1897 in Paris , † August 6, 1986 in Bagnères-de-Bigorre ) was a French composer, pianist and music teacher.

Simone Plé-Caussade studied at the Paris Conservatory with Alfred Cortot , Henri Dallier and Georges Caussade (1873–1936), her future husband. In 1928 she took over her husband's class at the conservatory. Her students included u. a. Jean-Etienne Marie , Makoto Shinohara , Tolia Nikiprowetzky , Serge Nigg , Betsy Jolas , Gilbert Amy , Herbert de Castro , Jean-Louis Petit , Bruce Mather , Pierre Gabaye , Noël Lancien , Monique Cecconi-Botellaand Serge Gut .

She composed church music, songs, organ pieces, choral works, chamber music and two collections of piano pieces for children.
