Sina Martens (born May 26, 1988 in Cologne ) is a German actress .

Life

Sina Martens grew up in Northern Germany. Her family comes from Mamonowo and Steinburg . After graduating from high school, she actually aimed to study psychology, but then switched to acting and studied from 2010 to 2014 at the "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" University of Music and Theater in Leipzig . In her third year of study she became a member of the studio at the Centraltheater and played under directors such as Sebastian Hartmann , Armin Petras , Rainald Grebe and Ulrich Rasche .

Since completing her studies, Martens has been committed to well-known German theaters, such as the Berliner Arbeiter-Theater , the Hebbel am Ufer , the Schauspiel Hannover and the theaters in Oberhausen and Bonn . She played again and again at the Leipzig Theater . In addition to numerous other roles, she appeared there in 2013 in The Great March and in the 2014/15 season as Fräulein Else in the play of the same name based on the novella by Arthur Schnitzler . In the 2016/2017 season she was engaged at the Schauspiel Frankfurt and u. a. to be seen in the production of The Cold Breath of Money by Alexander Eisenach . In the 2017/2018 season she followed Oliver Reese to the Berliner Ensemble . Here she works u. a. with Michael Thalheimer and Frank Castorf .

In 2013 she received the ensemble prize at the Theatertreffen of German-speaking drama students in Berlin for her participation in the great march . as well as a scholarship from the German National Academic Foundation . In 2017 she was named Young Actress of the Year by the trade journal Theater heute . In 2018 she received the Daphne Prize of the TheaterGemeinde Berlin for outstanding young actors.

Sina Martens has also been working in front of the camera since the beginning of the 2010s and was seen, for example, in SOKO Leipzig and the Tatort episode Turkish Honey . She also works as a spokesperson for audio book productions.
