Moritz Vierboom (born February 14, 1983 ) is a Dutch actor . He mainly appears as a stage actor in German-speaking countries.

Life

Vierboom completed his acting training from 2003 to 2007 at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna . There he received role lessons from Susanne Ganzer and Michael König . During his training he already took on a number of theater roles. In 2004 he played Lysander in Shakespeare's comedy A Midsummer Night's Dream in a production in Altaussee directed by Klaus Maria Brandauer . He also took part in productions of the Max Reinhardt Seminar in the Schönbrunn Palace Theater. In 2006 he was a guest at the Wiener Festwochen in 5000 Love Letters (director: Barbara Pulli / Mats Staub). In 2007 he played the architect Walter Gropius at the Kurhaus Semmering in Joshua Sobol's play Alma , directed by Paulus Manker .

Immediately after graduating, he was engaged with a beginner's contract at the Burgtheater in Vienna , where he was a permanent member of the ensemble up to and including the 2011/12 season. There he played under the direction of Luc Bondy , Falk Richter , Franz Wittenbrink and Stefan Pucher, among others . His roles at the Burgtheater included a. a. King of France / Knights from Lear's suite / Knights from Cordelia's suite in King Lear (2006/07 season and 2007/08 season; director: Luc Bondy), Rodolfo in Das Leben der Bohème after Aki Kaurismäki's film (2007/08 season; director : Philip Jenkins), Proculeius / Thidias in Antonius und Cleopatra (season 2009/10; director: Stefan Pucher), Der Bursche (Der Arbeiter) / Detective in Die heilige Johanna der Schlachthöfe (season 2010/11; director: Michael Thalheimer ) and Pierre Visitow in War and Peace (2011/12 season; director: Matthias Hartmann ).

In the 2012/13 season he appeared at the “ Garage X Theater Petersplatz ” theater in the Austrian premiere of the stage version of Andrei Tarkovsky's Das Opfer as Viktor Viktor. In the 2012/13 season he was engaged as a guest at the Lower Austria State Theater for part of the season . There he played the role of Don John / Don Juan in Much Ado About Nothing in a production by Roland Koch and Jason in Mamma Medea by Tom Lanoye . In the 2013/14 season he played son Andor in My Mother, Cleopatra by Attila Bartis at the Landestheater Niederösterreich at the side of Julia von Sell . In 2014, he played Pierre Visitow in War and Peace again as a guest at the Vienna Burgtheater . In the 2015/16 season, Vierboom will take on the role of Anton Hofmiller in a stage version of Stefan Zweig's novel Impatience of the Heart as a guest at the Lower Austria State Theater from the end of November 2015 . In January 2016 he performed this production at the Stadttheater Baden near Vienna.

In recent years Vierboom has also taken on a number of roles for film and television; However, the focus of his artistic activity is still theater work. He had a supporting role in the television film Marie Brand and the Open Account (2013). In Kaspar Heidelbach's TV film Special Severity of Guilt (2014) , he played alongside Hanno Koffler and Moritz Heidelbach the role of Rudi, one of the three police officers who monitor the released criminal Joseph Komalschek ( Götz George ). In Cologne's Tatort: ​​Bausünden (first broadcast: January 2018) he played, again with Moritz Heidelbach as a partner, the architect Kastner, who is working on a building project in Qatar .

Together with the actresses Miriam Stein and Pheline Roggan as well as the director Laura Fischer , Vierboom formulated a 13-point ideal of “turning green” in 2020, the implementation of which is intended to help combat the climate crisis .
