The Trinity Islands are a small group of islands southwest of Kodiak Island in Alaska , USA . They belong to the Kodiak Archipelago and consist mainly of the two islands Tugidak Island and Sitkinak Island. The third island in the group is 'Dry Rock'. The Trinity Islands are administered by the Kodiak Island Borough .
Tugidak Island
Tugidak Island ( 56 ° 31 ′ N , 154 ° 36 ′ W ) lies west of Sitkinak and is 173.14 km² in size. 2 people live on the island (as of 2000). The most striking thing about this island is the large, shallow lagoon in the northeast , which is under conservation . The island is an important breeding site for seals as well as many species of sea birds .
Sitkinak Island
Sitkinak Island ( 56 ° 33 ′ N , 154 ° 10 ′ W ) is the eastern island of the group. It is 235.51 km² and uninhabited. Sitkinak also has a large lagoon, which is roughly in the middle of the island.
