Skåneleden is a network of long-distance hiking trails through the Swedish province of Scania ( Skåne in Swedish ). It was officially launched in 1978.

hikes

The Skåneleden ( led = path) consists of five independent, but combinable variants, which are divided into 80 daily stages of different lengths and which together reach a length of more than 1,000 kilometers. The path is signposted with orange markings everywhere.

Simple shoes, comfortable clothing and a pack of provisions are sufficient for day hikes. If necessary, you should pay attention to rainproof clothing. For a longer hike, it is recommended that you bring food, a sleeping bag and a sleeping mat with you. If you want to camp, you will find some sheltered places to stay overnight. It is expected that all hikers observe the Allemansrätt and treat the environment and nature carefully.

Sections

The variants of Skåneleden are:

  • The Kust till kustleden extends over 370 kilometers from Sölvesborg in the east to Örlid near Ängelholm in the west. It connects the east coast (here you have a connection to the Blekingeleden ) with the west coast (where you finally go around the Bjärehalvön peninsula ) and runs in the north of Skåne.
  • The North till sydleden extends over 325 km from the camp Hårsjö in the north to Malmö , Trelleborg or Ystad in the south by Central Skåne. From an alternative route through the local recreation area Skrylle, a detour leads to Dalby Söderskog , one of the smallest and oldest national parks in Sweden.
  • The Ås åsleden till extends from Åstorp according Agusa . This 162-kilometer route by Skåneleden, which crosses the province from northwest to southeast, leads through the Söderåsen National Park , among other places .
  • The Österlenleden begins and ends in Ystad . It leads in a 188-kilometer loop through the Österlen region in the east of Skåne. Between Simrishamn and Kivik you pass the Stenshuvud National Park .
  • The Öresundsleden runs for 172 kilometers along the Öresund in the west of Skåne. It begins in the north in Utvälinge and connects to the Kust till kustleden in Malmö . A circular route is also marked on the island of Ven .

These five variants are supplemented by various alternative routes and connecting paths, so that the individual variants can also be supplemented with one another. Due to the relatively dense settlement of Skåne and the associated density of streets, some with a connection to the public bus network, shorter sections of the individual variants can be hiked at any time.

The variant of Nord till sydleden, which ends in Ystad, is identical to Österlenleden for the last 24 kilometers.
