Slobodan Medojević ( Serbian - Cyrillic Слободан Медојевић ; born November 20, 1990 in Novi Sad ) is a Serbian football player . The defensive midfielder is under contract with AEL Limassol in Cyprus .

Vojvodina Novi Sad

Slobodan Medojević went through all youth teams of Vojvodina Novi Sad and made his professional debut on May 2, 2007, when his team won 1-0 away against Borac Čačak and he was substituted on in the 89th minute for Dušan Tadić . Due to his young age, he was not used in the following season 2007/08 and only returned to the professional team in the season 2008/09. This season, however, he was only used twice. 2009/10 Medojević developed into a leading player in the professional squad and was used 25 times during the season. He scored two goals, his first on August 16, 2009 (1st matchday) in a 3-0 win in the away game against Hajduk Kula , and reached the cup final with Vojvodina. In the 2010/11 season he again reached the cup final and third place in the league. He was named the best youth player in 2011 and was part of the SuperLiga team of the year.

VfL Wolfsburg

After 70 league games for Vojvodina, he signed a contract with Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg on January 2, 2012, dated until June 30, 2015 . He was signed by coach Felix Magath as a perspective player for the future. With jersey number 6 he made his debut under Dieter Hecking on March 31, 2013 (27th matchday) in a 2-2 home game against 1. FC Nürnberg for 90 minutes. He prepared the 2-0 by asserting himself on the right wing against two opponents. He was able to fight for a regular place straight away and was used in each of the remaining season games. He made his DFB Cup debut on April 16, 2013 in the semi-final match against Bayern Munich on the starting line-up. At the beginning of the first half of the 2013/14 season he injured his thigh and was out for a short time, but he was able to fight for a regular place and play eleven games in the league and one in the DFB Cup.

Eintracht Frankfurt

On August 31, 2014, Medojević moved to Eintracht Frankfurt . He signed a three-year contract with Hessen. On November 21, 2015, he scored his first Bundesliga goal in a 3-1 home defeat against Bayer 04 Leverkusen .

On June 9, 2017, Medojević extended his contract in Frankfurt until 2018.

SV Darmstadt 98

On January 19, 2018, Medojević moved to SV Darmstadt 98 , where he signed a contract with a term until June 30, 2019. After relegation, the Serb's expiring contract was not extended in spring 2019.

AEL Limassol

He then moved to AEL Limassol in Cyprus after seven years in Germany .

National team

Medojević was used in the youth national teams of Serbia from 2006 and was used regularly. From 2009 to 2012 he played for the U21 national team and made 18 international matches . He was also the captain of this national team.
