Smørumnedre is a satellite city of the Danish capital Copenhagen on the island of Sjælland ( German : Zealand ) with 20,025 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020). It is located three kilometers west of Ballerup and 20 kilometers northwest of downtown Copenhagen ( Danish : København ). Smørumnedre today forms a coherent settlement area with its former northern neighbor town Måløv , so that the town now extends over three municipalities : The original Smørumnedre was in Smørum Sogn in Ledøje-Smørum Municipality , which was in the Egedal with the Danish municipal reform on January 1, 2007 Municipality has risen, the original Måløv was in Måløv Sogn in Ballerup Municipality and extended to Værløse Sogn in Værløse Kommune (since 2007: Furesø Kommune ).
Until the abolition of the Harden structure , the entire area belonged to Harde Smørum Herred in what was then Københavns Amt , then to the reduced Københavns Amt , which was added to the Hovedstaden region in 2007 .
