Værløse Sogn is a parish municipality ( Danish : Sogn ) west of the Danish capital Copenhagen (Danish: København ). Until 1970 it belonged to Harde Smørum Herred in what was then Københavns Office , then to Værløse Kommune in the reduced Københavns Office , which was merged into Furesø Municipality in the Hovedstaden region as part of the municipal reform on January 1, 2007 .
On October 1, 2010 the former church district Hareskov Kirkedistrikt in Værløse Sogn became an independent Sogn Hareskov Sogn with the abolition of the Danish church districts .
16,156 inhabitants live in the parish, 12,926 of them in Værløse (as of January 1, 2020).
In the parish is the church "Værløse Kirke".
Neighboring municipalities are Farum Sogn in the north and Hareskov Sogn in the south , further in the northeastern neighboring Rudersdal municipality Ny Holte Sogn , in the eastern neighboring Lyngby-Taarbæk municipality Virum Sogn and Sorgefri Sogn , in the southeast neighboring Gladsaxe municipality Bagsværd Sogn , in the southern neighboring municipality Ballerup Kommune Ballerup Sogn and Måløv Sogn and in the west of neighboring Egedal Kommune Ganløse Sogn .
South of the village is the Flyvestation of the same name , a deactivated military airfield .
