Sněžná (German Schnauhübel ) is a district of Krásná Lípa in Okres Děčín , Ústecký kraj .
history
The place was first mentioned in the parish chronicle of Zeidler ( Brtníky ) around 1400 .
Culture and sights
- Maria Schnee pilgrimage chapel : The Maria Schnee pilgrimage chapel is located in the northern part of the village. Until the expulsion of the Germans, since its construction in 1732 by the married couple Johann Christof and Maria Liebsch, processions took place on the feast day and in the octave. A stone relief was attached to the church in honor of the couple. The statue of the Virgin Mary inside the church is probably imitated from the image of grace in Česká Kamenice : the simple woman becomes the queen of heaven. This is indicated by the halo behind her head and the crown. In 1982, Cardinal Tomášek visited Sněžná, celebrated Mass in a festive service, emphasizing the importance of this place.
- Cemetery, behind the pilgrimage chapel are the remains of a cemetery. Eleven tombs commemorate victims of the First World War.
- Paradise garden, A paradise garden was laid out on private property. There are rare conifers and rhododendron bushes by the small ponds. The arboretum was laid out by Siegfried Fritsche.
