action
A crisis area. Two UN blue helmet soldiers of the German armed forces secure a landing zone for transport helicopters that deliver relief supplies to a village plagued by civil war . Some residents hurry up from here, but suddenly shots are fired. A sniper fires at the defenseless people from one of the surrounding houses. Panic breaks out. In the face of the two helpless soldiers , a young woman collapses, seriously injured. Charly, driven by pity, loses his nerve, disregards the orders of his superior staff sergeant , leaves cover and wants to rush to the woman's help. But his desperate attempt is fatally punished - this time another bullet hits him. Overwhelmed by desperation and anger, his comrade runs to catch the sniper. He reaches the house unharmed and runs after the fugitive. He fires a warning shot and lines up. The sergeant's will to avenge himself for the death of his friend fades when, looking through the viewfinder of his reflex sight, he discovers that the fleeing shooter is a child. The intimidated boy drops his gun and goes on his way without the staff sergeant making any further attempt to stop him. The film ends in resignation.

backgrounds
- Sniper Alley was the unofficial name of a main street in Sarajevo , the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina . Countless people were killed by snipers on this street, which is why it was decided at that time to put up signs on that street with the words Pazi - Snajper! was warned of the danger to life posed by the snipers.
- In addition to showing the horrors of war , the film naturally also deals with the problem of the child soldier, but also addresses the dichotomy a soldier can get into when he gets into the gray area between his own feelings on the one hand and his mission to command and obedience on the other. That is why the Bundeswehr also benefits from Snipers Alley , as it sometimes uses the film for purposes of political education .
