SP3 is a CPU socket the company AMD , the server - Processors of EPYC series can accept that on the Zen architecture based. It was introduced on June 20, 2017.

SP3 / Epyc supports DDR4 memory with eight memory channels per CPU (Octa-Channel). There are mainboards with one and two sockets, for which the corresponding CPU versions for one and two processor systems (the former with P in the type designation) are to be used. The Epyc CPUs have 8, 16, 24 or 32 cores and all support multithreading .

The socket is mechanically identical to socket TR4 (also called SP3r2 ) for the Ryzen Threadripper processors, but not compatible with it.
