The socket 563 is a micro- PGA socket designed, the only energy-efficient AMD Athlon XP-M (as well as 35 W 16, 25 processors TDP ) was designed.

The socket is often found in laptops and, unlike socket A, has a pin for the power-saving function. There are also mainboards for desktop computers with socket 563. Mechanically, the Athlon XP-Ms from socket 563 are incompatible with those from socket A.
