Classes
At the Paralympic sailing competitions, a distinction was only made between classes in order to ensure the team's balance. The athletes were classified according to the degree of disability with up to seven points, with seven points being awarded to the less disabled athletes. Three sailors were not allowed to exceed a total of 14 points. There had to be a minimal disability in the one, otherwise there were no further distinctions.
