Sonja Eismann (* 1973 in Heidelberg ) is a German journalist and cultural scientist . She is co-founder and co-editor of Missy Magazine and lives in Berlin and Vienna .

Life

Sonja Eismann studied cultural studies in Vienna , Mannheim , Dijon and Santa Cruz ( USA ). In 1998 she co-founded nylon magazine . KunstStoff on feminism and popular culture . Since 2008 she has been co-editor and editor-in-chief of Missy Magazine. She also writes as a freelance writer for various magazines (including Spex , taz , Jungle World and specifically ).

She is the editor of various books, for example (together with Chris Köver ) Do it yourself - Do it yourself for girls (2012) and Congratulations, you are a girl! (2013).

Since 2007 she has been teaching at various universities. As a scientist, her research focuses on the representation of gender in popular culture, third wave feminism, gender-sensitive (pop) journalistic writing, do-it-yourself cultures and fashion theory.

In addition, she is a member of the music advisory board of the Goethe Institute.
