Sun (heraldry)
The sun is a common figure used in heraldry . As in the real world, the representation of a rising and setting sun is used in heraldry as a special expression of the coat of arms . Is the sun emblazoned in the right upper corner , i. H. described, it is rising . In the left upper corner there is talk of a setting sun. As the midday sun , it is in the middle of the coat of arms . The "round" with a human face is often shown in coats of arms . On the other hand, if the circle is empty, the sun is then uneducated or the sun is without a face . The circle of the sun is more often metal-tinged than in gold or silver. The number of rays, alternating straight and round, should be limited to sixteen. If the rays are straight, then they are radiant , otherwise they are named as flamed .
The representation known as the White Sun is a white twelve-rayed sun in blue and was in the Chinese national coat of arms from 1928 to 1949 . Now this is only shown on the flag and in the coat of arms of the Republic of China (Taiwan) .
