Sophia Kircher

Sophia Kircher (born May 4, 1994 in Innsbruck ) is an Austrian politician of the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP). She was sworn in as a member of the Tyrolean state parliament on March 28, 2018 .

Life

From 2004, Sophia Kircher attended the Ursulinen Wirtschaftskundliches Realgymnasium in Innsbruck , where she graduated in 2012 . She then began studying international economics at the University of Innsbruck , which she completed with a master's degree in 2017 with a thesis on the subject of the federal contribution to pension insurance in Austria: reasons, long-term development and economic assessment . She spent a year abroad in 2014/15 at Brock University in St. Catharines , Canada . During her studies she was a member of the AktionGemeinschaft (AG) and chaired the Austrian Students' Union (ÖH) at the University of Innsbruck and worked in the federal office of the young ÖVP in Vienna as a consultant in Sebastian Kurz's team . After completing her studies, she worked in a marketing agency.

politics

Since January 2017 she has been district chairman of the young ÖVP Innsbruck-Land . She is the community party leader of VP Götzens, member of the mayor list Together for Götzens and active in the Young European People's Party ( Youth of the European People's Party ). On March 28, 2018, she was in the constituent state parliament session of the XVII. Legislative term as Member of the Tyrolean Parliament sworn in . She moved up for a member of the government after moving to the state government Platter III .

After Dominik Schrott resigned from all political offices in August 2018, she was appointed interim state chairwoman by the board of the Young People's Party in Tyrol. In February 2019 she was elected chairwoman of the Young People's Party in Tyrol at the extraordinary state parliament.
