Sorni is a fraction of the Italian municipality of Lavis , Trentino . The district gives its name to a white and a red wine with the status of a DOC . Sorni is a sub-zone ("sottozona") of the DOC Trentino. It is described in the DOC Trentino
In the labeling of the wines referred to in this Annex, the name of the sub-area "Sorni" followed by the indication of the white or red type may be replaced by the words "Bianco dei Sorni" or "Rosso dei Sorni".
37 winemakers cultivate the Sorni on 19 hectares of vineyards and harvest an average of 675 hectoliters of wine . Of these 675 hl, 351 hl are used for red wine and 324 hl for white wine.
The vineyards are divided between the municipalities of Lavis, Giovo and San Michele all'Adige .
White wine (Trentino Sorni Bianco DOC)
The white wine should consist of the following grape varieties: Nosiola , Müller-Thurgau and Silvaner , each individually or together. Sometimes proportions are given. The wine should be drunk young.
