Sou Fujimoto
Sou Fujimoto ( Japanese 藤 本 壮 介 , Fujimoto Sōsuke ; born August 4, 1971 in Hokkaidō ) is a Japanese architect and university professor .
Life
Fujimoto graduated from Tokyo University in 1994 with an engineering degree . He decided to work independently and to accept and carry out smaller jobs. In 2000 he opened the architecture partnership Sou Fujimoto Architects .
Fujimoto has held various visiting professorships in Japan since 2001 and has been associate professor at the Tokyo University of Natural Sciences since 2001 , at the University of Kyoto since 2007 and at both Keiō University and his alma mater since 2009 .

Honourings and prices
- 2008: Prize in the Private House category at the World Architecture Festival for the definitive wooden house in Kumamoto.
- 2008: Grand Prix of the Japan Institute of Architects (JIA).
- 2009: Wallpaper Magazine design award also for the definitive wooden house .
